Ensure financial compliance with university fiscal policies and federal, state, and local requirements related to sponsored projects.
Monitor and test departmental compliance; identify vulnerabilities and develop corrective action plans.
Develop and conduct training programs for sponsored projects accounting and track training outcomes.
Use data analytics to develop reports to monitor high-risk areas and collaborate with units to mitigate risks.
Collaborate with HURON and DASH to develop reports and program changes to improve compliance.
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate departmental financial compliance reviews and audit activities; coordinate documentation for external audits.
Outreach to faculty and staff regarding compliance concerns; notify campus of policy and regulation changes.
Represent Division of Research Administration in meetings and work on ad hoc projects as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Three years of related work experience with background in accounting, auditing, risk assessment or regulatory compliance.
Experience with computer systems, including spreadsheet software (such as MS Office)
Knowledge of research administration issues, including financial management and the ability to interpret and communicate federal, state, and local laws and regulations relevant to research administration operations, policies, and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively, including active listening skills, plus the ability to work with a diverse group of faculty, staff, administrators, and other stakeholders.
Ability to be detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to provide excellent customer service with a commitment to exceptional quality.
