About the role

  • The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for growing the SDI brand through data-driven strategies.
  • A successful Digital Marketing Specialist will have great impact by assisting with both content production and strategy.
  • Using tracking systems, industry trends, and multi-channel media, this team member will advance SDI’s brand, increasing audience, leads, students, and graduates.
  • By fully immersing in data and market analysis, the Digital Marketing Specialist will be able to help implement tests, projects, and initiatives that will find more effective ways to market SDI.
  • The Digital Marketing Specialist will work closely with the Compliance team to produce content that both advances the school’s brand and adheres to the guidelines that keep our school safe.
  • The Digital Marketing Specialist will also be responsible for vendor and project management, as well as maintenance of systems and data.
  • Social Media: in collaboration with other Marketing team members, strategize and produce constant interactive and organic presence and messaging within SDI’s social media strategy goals, specifically for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube, Instagram, and other emerging digital media.
  • Email Marketing: test, track, and analyze the successes and failures of multi-tier email marketing systems and strategies.
  • Work with other Marketing team members as well as other SDI team members across departments to positively impact email open rates, conversion results, and other key metrics.
  • Website: Analyze and track trends, proactively find opportunities and threats in relation to website traffic, SEO, site content, and page ranking, including A/B testing as needed.
  • Collaborate with vendors as necessary to trial and produce tests and new strategies.
  • Content Marketing: Working with other Marketing team members, come up with creative content ideas for--and then help produce—items like blog posts, press releases, videos, and more as directed by the VP of Growth and Marketing.
  • Internal Communications: Collect and produce content for the SDI Internal Newsletter, both to increase team-wide communication and to bolster inter-departmental excitement about what the team is accomplishing each month.
  • Share out data with key players. Look for additional ways to increase communication with and to other SDI departments.
  • Web Reputation Management: seek out ways to improve SDI’s web reputation by creating and implementing strategies regarding obtaining and utilizing positive reviews, refreshing business profiles, and more.
  • Actively search for creative, new, and better ways to promote and advance the school.
  • Responsible for deliverable lead data and ROI on budgeted campaigns.
  • Using existing and emerging data solutions and systems, produce weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual data regarding lead generation, lead sources, conversion success, content trends, website traffic data, and more.
  • Expose vulnerabilities and opportunities using data, and work with other SDI team members to find new and better ways to collect, report, and analyze data.
  • Implement, optimize, and maintain marketing software systems and platforms, working with digital marketing vendors as needed.
  • In some cases, serve as project manager for related integration and on-boarding/off-boarding projects. Other tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Creative Writing, or similar field.
  • One year or more experience with automated email marketing software and general CRM software
  • One year or more experience in lead generation, social media strategy, press release production, and client outreach
  • One year or more experience in print and online marketing or journalism preferred
  • Unique mix of creative and analytical mindsets
  • A laser focus on growth, conversion, and improvement, plus a creative eye to assist with messaging and storytelling that engages the SDI audience.
  • Understanding of DOE, DOD, DOJ, DEAC, and ATF rules and regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to proofread and copy edit written materials.
  • Basic knowledge of website management; experience with Wordpress and HTML preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
  • Firearms knowledge or experience is preferred, but not required
  • Some travel required, up to 5%
