About the role
- Protects the Company’s employees, customers, and assets against losses, injuries, and accidents by directing, implementing, and overseeing the administration of safety and key loss prevention programs.
- Responsible for monitoring and communicating safety-related, regional/divisional profit and loss by establishing and delivering claim cost reduction and containment metrics.
- Ensures safety compliance by overseeing OSHA, DOT, and other compliance-related activities.
- Protects the Company’s employees, customers, and assets against losses, injuries, and accidents through the enforcement of safe work practices.
- Prevents accidents and other safety exposures by investigating, identifying causes, and developing preventative measures and practices.
- Builds successful business partnerships by communicating with the corporate Safety department, customer safety managers, and regional management and employees.
- Reports to business boards on regional safety issues and performance.
- Meets safety and environmental health goals by developing and implementing training programs consistent with governmental regulations and business and customer needs.
- Coordinates on-site worker and supervisory safety training programs with the insurance carrier, broker, and other outside vendors.
- Mitigates risk exposure by identifying sources of safety and environmental risk and developing needed programs, policies, and procedures.
- Avoids legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation.
- Assists with safety and environmental health acquisition due diligence and coordinates post-acquisition safety rollout programs.
- Ensures internal and external customer satisfaction by recommending best practices.
- Drives, implements, sustains, and develops quality process improvements that focus on safety, financials, operations, and customer service.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably relating to Safety and Health.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Requires three (3) to five (5) years progressively responsible professional-level safety-related experience.
- Ability to persuasively communicate with all levels of management.
- Strong training and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications and other operations applications.
- Maintain currency in all areas of OSHA and ANSI, including, but not limited to, CFR 1910 and 1926, as well as legislation affecting these areas.
- Maintain current knowledge in all areas of FMCRs as they relate to the rental industry.
- Occupational Health-Safety and/or accredited professional certification preferred.
- May travel up to 50% of work time.
