About the role
- Manage key project contracts (e.g., construction contracts, service agreements, lease agreements); monitor supplier and subcontractor contracts and ensure compliance with agreed terms
- Identify, monitor and mitigate financial and contractual risks in coordination with other departments (e.g., Legal & Compliance, Accounting and Financial Controlling)
- Take ownership for the development and implementation of the contract management tool for renewable energy projects (lead the design of a scalable contract management solution for renewables and the end-to-end implementation; define and enforce a comprehensive metadata model and design configurable workflows to track contract-specific obligations and milestones; establish data quality controls)
- Define and implement efficient processes for commercial management tasks
- Continuously improve internal administration processes: lead cross-functional workshops to analyze the current state, identify gaps in responsibilities, update policies and guidelines, and embed optimized workflows across all Uniper functions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Law or a related field
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in commercial asset management, preferably in renewable energy (solar, wind)
- Deep understanding of key contracts: development services agreements, land lease agreements, share purchase agreements (SPAs), EPC contracts, O&M agreements, and power purchase agreements (PPAs)
- Ability to extract relevant information from such contracts for the contract management tool
- Strong process management skills: knowledge of tools and hands-on experience designing organizational, cross-functional processes, defining deliverables, deadlines, communication channels, etc.
- Proven leadership capabilities, with the ability and willingness to take initiative and lead cross-functional projects
- Ability to work independently and manage medium-sized projects in the relevant areas
- Strong stakeholder management skills: proactive and confident stakeholder engagement; understanding stakeholders’ needs and requirements and the ability to manage their expectations
- Ability to work in a cross-functional environment and within matrix organizations; practical experience in multicultural settings and with remote teams; ability to maintain and develop professional networks in hybrid, remote, and intercultural teams
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); German is a plus.
