About the role

  • Lead a hands-on training on QGIS and KoboToolbox
  • Train senior staff in reliable data collection methods
  • Design and deliver the training
  • Develop appropriate training materials and user guides
  • Assess learning outcomes and recommend adjustments
  • Design technical and functional specifications
  • Develop a high-performance, lightweight application leveraging StatEduc data (MS Access/SQL Server)
  • Define the platform's technical specifications
  • Develop the platform: application development (Power BI or a custom Python solution)
  • Test the platform and facilitate a training workshop in N'Djamena for administrators and key users
  • Prepare a comprehensive end-of-assignment report

Requirements

  • Master's degree (or higher) in Geomatics, GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience
  • Proven experience using and training on GIS software (QGIS)
  • Strong experience in workshop facilitation and capacity building
  • Experience implementing GIS in the public sector, ideally in education
  • Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, knowledge of the Chadian context (major asset)
  • Advanced proficiency in QGIS and KoboToolbox
  • Skills in spatial databases and in developing visualization applications (Power BI, Python, etc.)
  • Knowledge of lightweight architectures and constraints of local infrastructures
  • Excellent teaching, facilitation, and communication skills in French.
