About the role

  • Conduct a thorough, multidimensional assessment of the current state of the SIGE in Burundi
  • Conduct national-level interviews with primary producers and users of school statistics, such as the Ministry(ies) of Education
  • Analyze the current functional relationship between the SIGE, the Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies of Burundi (ISTEEBU), and the operations of the General Population and Housing Census (RGPH)
  • Prepare the diagnostic report on the education sector statistical system

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s level or equivalent) in education sciences, evaluation, statistics, economics, or related disciplines
  • At least 10 years of experience providing support and conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses in education
  • Proven experience of at least 5 years in evaluating and developing strategic plans for EMIS/SIGE
  • Experience in evaluating and implementing DQAF or other data quality assessment frameworks in African contexts
  • Experience in decentralizing information systems and developing interfaces/dashboards at decentralized levels
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with strong interpersonal and presentation abilities
  • Good computer skills and basic knowledge of relational database management and EMIS/SIGE technical architecture
  • Proficiency in French (spoken and written)
