About the role
- Manage the company's AWS account structure, organisation & permission boundaries. Maintaining foundational infrastructure while also actively monitoring cost & utilisation.
- Manage central infrastructure as code solutions that enable product teams to safely provision the infra resources they need while enforcing standardisation without causing bottlenecks.
- Support the SDLC at Personio by maintaining and operating GitOps based continuous delivery pipelines that support all worklords across all environments.
- Operate and maintain EKS clusters across all environments and runtime integrations for all workloads.
- Document platform capabilities and run internal training sessions where necessary.
- Drive technical excellence with a design led mindset. Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the engineering organisation with the aim to simplify our platform architecture, build a golden path and help tackle technical debt.
- Take ownership of operational responsibilities for platform services within your domain, including on-call participation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a SRE, platform or cloud engineering background.
- Experience with cloud & infra concepts - E.G. AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Datadog
- Experience with SaaS software development in distributed systems using programming languages such as Typescript, Java/Kotlin, Python.
- Experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions/GitOps tools)
- You have a high quality bar regarding operational best practices.
- You understand how to utilize metrics to define and measure the impact of your work.
- You have a strong tactical mindset and can connect this to higher level strategies set by engineering management and staff engineers.
- You have excellent written and spoken English (level C1/C2 on the CEFR scale).
