About the role

  • Ensure that the purpose and value of the UMaine 4-H Centers at Bryant Pond and Greenland Point are realized through the development and implementation of programs that support the mission of 4-H and UMaine Cooperative Extension.
  • Serve as a role model for staff by maintaining a high degree of professionalism, exhibiting exemplary leadership and teaching skills, and skilled supervision.
  • Serve as Director on Duty and be responsible for risk management (program and facility) during specific program offerings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of five to seven years of significant work experience in camp/outdoor education or youth development program leadership
  • Certifications and instructor qualifications in Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife recreation safety programs
  • Successful supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage educational program budgets
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with marketing using print and electronic media
  • Wilderness First Responder Certification
  • CPR Certification
  • Maine driver’s license and be eligible to be authorized and approved as a university driver based on the Driver Administration Policy.
