About the role
- Support protective relay replacement projects by performing electrical design work
- Develop relay settings, and assist with testing and commissioning activities
- Contribute to a broad range of system protection engineering initiatives
- Periodic travel throughout California to support field activities, including site walkdowns, commissioning, troubleshooting, and construction support
- Develop or assist with complete design packages for projects including diagrams and schematics
- Perform field demolition, on-site support, and troubleshooting
- Apply protection system engineering practices and principles in various areas
- Create SCADA point lists, HMI’s, and metering programs under supervision
- Develop plans, specifications, and observation reports
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (or equivalent) required
- Electrical power systems coursework preferred
- Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire
- Engineering internship experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving standards
- Must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S.
