About the role

  • Support protective relay replacement projects by performing electrical design work
  • Develop relay settings, and assist with testing and commissioning activities
  • Contribute to a broad range of system protection engineering initiatives
  • Periodic travel throughout California to support field activities, including site walkdowns, commissioning, troubleshooting, and construction support
  • Develop or assist with complete design packages for projects including diagrams and schematics
  • Perform field demolition, on-site support, and troubleshooting
  • Apply protection system engineering practices and principles in various areas
  • Create SCADA point lists, HMI’s, and metering programs under supervision
  • Develop plans, specifications, and observation reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (or equivalent) required
  • Electrical power systems coursework preferred
  • Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire
  • Engineering internship experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving standards
  • Must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S.
