About the role
- Produce best-in-class design work that inspires peers, influences leaders, and delights learners across mobile and web.
- Design flagship learning experiences driving end-to-end solutions that balance usability, delight, and visual excellence.
- Lead by example in motion and interaction design, setting standards for clarity, polish, and engagement through animation and transitions.
- Explore and prototype AI-powered experiences to personalize learning paths and simplify workflows.
- Raise the visual design bar and ensure UI is distinctive and competitive.
- Serve as a hands-on thought leader: shape design critiques, mentor peers, and elevate craft culture across Udemy’s global design org.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to ensure designs are feasible, performant, and implemented with fidelity.
- Influence design direction at a strategic level through storytelling and prototypes.
Requirements
- 10+ years of product design experience, including consumer-facing products at scale.
- A portfolio that demonstrates full-stack design excellence—interaction, visual design, systems thinking, and shipped work that has real impact.
- Expertise in motion and animation, with proven ability to make products feel alive, fluid, and intuitive.
- Strong visual sensibility: typography, hierarchy, color, and layout at a pixel-perfect level.
- Fluency with modern design and prototyping tools, including experience with AI-assisted design workflows.
- Ability to inspire peers and influence executives through the strength of your design craft and storytelling.
- Experience contributing to or extending design systems, ensuring consistency while pushing innovation.
- Passion for lifelong learning and a desire to make education more accessible, engaging, and transformative worldwide.
