About the role
- Review and maintain the AP inbox to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, purchase orders and employee expense reports, including obtaining appropriate approvals.
- Enter cash receipts, monitor aging reports and assist with follow-up on outstanding balances with clients.
- Organize and maintain electronic accounting records by combining and filing AP, AR, and supporting documentation.
- Review and process employee timesheets on a semi-monthly basis, generate timesheet reports, assist with payroll processing, and support timesheet corrections as needed.
- Perform reconciliations of reports, including credit cards and subcontractor reports, and assist with researching and resolving discrepancies.
- Support the accounting team with ad hoc tasks such as updating Excel schedules, saving monthly bank statements, booking travel reservations, and assisting with new hire and termination set up in Deltek Costpoint.
- Assist with audits, property tax filings, and other compliance-related requests as needed.
- Support the Controller with financial deliverables, including DCAA related reporting and annual incurred cost submissions.
- Participate in training opportunities, including Deltek learning resources, to build a strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and government contracting requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 0-3 years of accounting or finance experience (Recent graduates encouraged to apply)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel to include lookups and pivot tables
- Deltek Costpoint experience preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Clear written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with all stakeholders
- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow
