About the role
- Validate and oversee creation and usage of complex financial risk management models
- Work on models covering mortgages, capital markets and wealth management areas
- Collaborate with multiple business lines and Model Risk Management through model development cycle
- Perform data analysis, testing, documentation verification, benchmarking and monitoring
- Create and code challenger models and perform implementation testing and verification
- Produce written validation reports identifying risk concerns and present outcomes to stakeholders
- Provide monitoring and ongoing model oversight
- Support technical skills development within the team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field and five or more years of relevant experience
- MA/MS in a quantitative field and three or more years of related experience
- PhD in a quantitative field and less than two years of related experience
- Knowledge of fixed income and derivative valuation
- Knowledge of regression techniques, parametric and non-parametric algorithms, time series techniques and a broad range of statistical models
- Experience with model validation tests/methodologies and benchmarking
- Proficiency with Python, R, SAS or similar statistical packages
- Data compilation and programming skills
- Qualitative analysis skills
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative risk factors, industry and competition risks, and risk management approaches
- Ability to manage multiple tasks across timelines and strong project management skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, negotiation skills
- Demonstrated independence, teamwork and leadership
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to comply with U.S. Bank policies; subject to background checks and possibly FINRA, NMLS, Reg Z, OFAC and other regulatory requirements
