About the role
- The PMCM Practice Manager is responsible for establishing and expanding a sustainable Practice consisting of Project and Construction Management for infrastructure and facilities across the Area
- This includes providing leadership, business development and strategic marketing, client relationship management, project delivery, and recruitment and retention of key staff
- The successful individual may function in a senior project management / seller-doer capacity initially and transition to more of a pure leadership, business development and client relationship role as the practice matures
- Business Development Research and identify PMCM market growth opportunities in the area
- Develop implement, monitor and update marketing/business development plans with short and long-range goals
- Develop and implement solution-oriented sales approaches detailed to customer market and requirements
- Work with the Area Sector Managers, Practice Leaders, Growth Leaders and Project Managers to develop strategies for cultivating prospects and obtaining work
- Engage with Practice Leader and Area Manager in making go/no-go decisions on project pursuits
- Manage pursuits including teaming, proposal writing and preparation of formal interview presentations
- Responsible for achieving agreed upon annual sales goals
- Serve as Project Principal or Project Manager on major pursuits
- Coordinate work with agency/owner, contractor, utilities and other stakeholders
- Perform regular operational review of on-going projects
- Prepare/approve Quality Assurance Plans for projects
- Prepare staffing plans and workload projections
- Implement established project management, construction engineering and inspection safety procedures and guidelines on project(s)
- Follow prescribed Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures
Requirements
- Requires bachelor’s degree in engineering, planning or related field (PE/CCM registration/certification preferred but not required)
- Strong Business Development/Marketing experience with a proven track record
- 15 years of increasingly responsible experience in a similar function for an A/E/C firm
- History of developing and maintaining effective business relationships with clients and peers
- Demonstrated success in growing a group, division or company desired
- Excellent verbal and written and presentation skills are required
