About the role
- Own the end-to-end indirect tax compliance process across all U.S. states and applicable international jurisdictions
- Prepare, review, and ensure timely filing of Sales and Use Tax, VAT, GST/HST, Excise, Gross Receipts, and Personal Property Tax returns
- Monitor and analyze multi-state nexus thresholds, particularly those driven by project-based revenue activities
- Maintain exemption certificate compliance and supporting documentation
- Respond to state notices, audits, and regulatory inquiries
- Manage all tax registrations, state and local business licenses, and regulatory filings across jurisdictions
- Ensure all entities remain properly registered and in good standing with state, local, and international authorities
- Develop, enhance, and standardize indirect tax and registration processes and internal controls
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in related roles
- Strong background in multi-state Sales Tax compliance
- Experience consolidating rules and regulation for tax liabilities, payments and returns
- Industry experience preferred (Engineering/Architecture)
- Strong attention to detail, deadline-oriented, and excellent communication skills
- Understanding of GAAP and FAR regulations
- Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint systems experience preferred
