About the role
- Provide personalized one-on-one in-home tutoring to students with special needs
- Help students with daily activities and offer moral support
- Deliver tailored instruction based on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Provide targeted support in high school-level English, math, science, and writing aligned with IEP goals
- Assist in developing executive functioning skills (organization, time management, task completion)
- Use patient, structured teaching methods to reduce anxiety and maintain focus
- Incorporate frequent breaks and verbal praise to support motivation and emotional regulation
- Communicate regularly with family and school staff about progress and challenges
- Schedule: 3 sessions of 2 hours each (in-person tutoring in Alhambra, CA)
Requirements
- Experience working with high school students with autism in special education settings
- Bilingual fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese, with strong English proficiency
- Special education certification preferred
- Ability to create a calm, structured, and encouraging learning environment
- Strong communication and behavior management skills tailored to autistic learners
