About the role
- Provide enthusiastic support to opportunities and increase sales within Aftermarket Parts and Media.
- Take customer requests for parts, material or components and prepares quotations submitted to the customer.
- Field inquiries that may be domestic or international.
- Compare customer request for quotation to the Brentwood Polychem database and generate a proposal.
- If the proposal generates an order, enter the order into the system.
- Drive profitable Aftermarket sales growth to align with strategic growth plan and Company objectives.
- Work in a matrix organization coordinating Aftermarket activities with appropriate Regional Sales Managers and channel sales organizations.
- Raise all encountered issues in a professional fashion and follow until resolution.
- Prepare proposals accurately, enter orders promptly, provide project planning activities.
- Report all ‘direct to customer proposals’ to Representatives and Regional Sales Managers.
- Coordinate with Product Line Managers and Regional Sales Managers in the event of larger, multi-year RFQs.
- Assist other team members as needed to cover for other team members.
- Collaborate and assist internal departments in support of sales growth: Product Line Managers, Marketing, Project Planning, Engineering Contract Administration and Finance.
- Take additional direction and technical guidance from Solutions and Upgrades Specialist/engineers/managers and Product Line Manager.
- Attend and assist with local and regional trade shows.
- Develop working relationship with all Representative firms in designated coverage areas and promote aftermarket sales with Reps.
- Ability to accommodate occasional domestic travel including overnight stays.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent related experience in the Water and Wastewater industry for municipal and industrial markets.
- Ability to read and interpret customer requests for parts.
- Ability to read archive Bill of Materials and translate to new part numbers.
- Fluent and personable verbally, to be able to take customer requests and convert to written form and enter into company data systems.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
- Know fractions, percentages, and simple financial calculations to be able to generate customer proposals.
- Ability to take old document data and revise to current standards using look-up tables and charts.
- Be able to recognize trends and bring to management when deviations are noticed.
- Possess business-related computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, CRM Software and ERP systems.
