About the role

  • Represent employers and insurers in all stages of workers’ comp claims
  • Handle hearings, depositions, mediations, and appeals independently
  • Draft motions, legal memoranda, and client-facing reports
  • Collaborate with partners in other offices to drive business development
  • Act as the point person for the Columbia office with autonomy and leadership

Requirements

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active license to practice in South Carolina
  • At least 2 years of experience in workers’ comp defense or related litigation
  • Ability to work independently and manage a growing caseload
  • Strong interest in business development and client cultivation
  • Dual bar admission in South Carolina and North Carolina (nice-to-have)
  • Existing or partial book of business (nice-to-have)
  • Comfort operating as the lead attorney in a smaller office environment (nice-to-have)
  • Willingness to collaborate with remote partners on strategic growth (nice-to-have)
