About the role
- Represent employers and insurers in all stages of workers’ comp claims
- Handle hearings, depositions, mediations, and appeals independently
- Draft motions, legal memoranda, and client-facing reports
- Collaborate with partners in other offices to drive business development
- Act as the point person for the Columbia office with autonomy and leadership
Requirements
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active license to practice in South Carolina
- At least 2 years of experience in workers’ comp defense or related litigation
- Ability to work independently and manage a growing caseload
- Strong interest in business development and client cultivation
- Dual bar admission in South Carolina and North Carolina (nice-to-have)
- Existing or partial book of business (nice-to-have)
- Comfort operating as the lead attorney in a smaller office environment (nice-to-have)
- Willingness to collaborate with remote partners on strategic growth (nice-to-have)
