💰 $90,000 - $130,000 per year
About the role
- Prepare, file, and serve pleadings in New Jersey and federal bankruptcy courts; track deadlines and manage jurisdiction specific requirements
- Maintain case files, calendars, task lists, and critical date trackers for complex bankruptcy matters including committees and creditor representations
- Draft and file proofs of claim, retention applications, fee requests, and assist with claims reconciliation and billing documentation
- Monitor and summarize court dockets, coordinate hearing logistics, and support attorneys at hearings
- Communicate efficiently with judges, clients, claims agents, and court staff; assist with research, fact check investigations, and transaction closings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (Paralegal certificate is a plus)
- At least six years of substantive bankruptcy experience, ideally from law firm or legal services background
- Strong familiarity with CM/ECF filings, especially in New Jersey and New York bankruptcy courts
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills; sharp attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- High discretion with confidential information; proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Office Suite
