About the role
- Lead a team that manages stale-dated payments and unclaimed property process
- Investigate, locate, and reunite owners with forgotten assets
- Ensure compliance with state laws
- Monitor internal systems and coordinate with claims staff on payment issues
- Champion compliance, process optimization, and resolution of complex issues
- Manage high transaction volumes and build strong internal partnerships
- Safeguard financial integrity in a regulated insurance setting
- Integrate operational banking tasks with strategic financial controls
- Ensure precise handling of sensitive claim-related records and adherence to industry regulations
- Reconcile accounts, audit, track assets, and manage legal/regulatory reporting
Requirements
- 5+ years in workers’ compensation claims handling, unclaimed property management, accounting, or related financial operations
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity
- Understanding of workers’ compensation laws and regulations
- Claims adjudication processes
- Bank reconciliation procedures
- System-based transaction controls (e.g., stop payments, voids, refunds, recoveries)
- Proven leadership and team management
- Exceptional organizational and analytical abilities
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
