About the role
- Design and lead development of the native Rust backend, including APIs, microservices, and system architecture
- Integrate and manage real-time messaging infrastructure using WebSockets and event-driven services
- Oversee the Solana-based OleX token: smart contract development, wallet logic, and payments architecture
- Build the backend framework for AI-powered features (translation, recommendation engines, user content analysis)
- Ensure security, scalability, and performance across all systems, especially in crypto and gambling environments
- Partner with the CEO and broader team to align technical goals with the company’s global vision
- Lead, mentor, and coach a young global remote engineering team working on deferred compensation
- Roll up your sleeves and build core architecture alongside the founding team; set up best practices
- Coordinate development timelines for Phase 1 (7–8 months) and Phase 2 (9–10 months)
Requirements
- 7-10+ years as a CTO and have led engineering teams at early-stage startups
- Strong background in Rust and is an active coder
- Deep understanding of blockchain technology and token-based platforms
- Prior ICO experience is a big plus
- Experience with Solana, smart contract development, wallet logic, and payments architecture
- Experience building and integrating real-time messaging (WebSockets) and event-driven services
- Experience with AI/ML backend features (translation, recommendation engines, content analysis)
- Experience ensuring security, scalability, and performance in crypto and gambling environments
- Experience leading, mentoring, and coaching a distributed/remote engineering team across time zones
- Willingness to work for deferred compensation / sweat equity until funding closes
- Startup founder/leader mentality; comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change
- Ideally has investor connections or access to capital (preferred, not required)
