About the role
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
- Define and execute the data engineering roadmap in alignment with organizational strategy.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data workflows.
- Partner with data scientists and business analysts to enable advanced analytics and AI/ML initiatives.
- Establish best practices for data architecture, quality, security, and governance.
- Optimize data processing for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong expertise with SQL, Python, and data pipeline frameworks like Airflow and dbt
- Hands-on experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, or equivalent).
- Proficiency in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Proven track record of delivering scalable, production-grade data solutions.
- Strong understanding of data security, governance, and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
