About the role
- Lead and coordinate verification activities for the Annual Report and Half-Year Report
- Act as a subject matter expert for external reporting and controls
- Drive continuous improvement in balance sheet processes
- Partner with the management accounting team to identify, design and embed process improvements
- Maintain good working relationship with external auditors
- Support the development of a strong internal control environment
- Encourage good practice across the finance function
- Proactively identify emerging risks or areas of complexity
- Support and lead ad-hoc finance and reporting projects
Requirements
- ACA / ICAS / ACCA (or equivalent) qualified accountant
- Post qualification experience from practice or industry in financial control/group reporting
- Experience preparing/reviewing publicly listed Annual Reports and Accounts
- Strong experience with balance sheet reconciliations
- Practical experience designing, reviewing or improving balance sheet processes
- Proven experience coaching and mentoring junior team members
- Excellent time management and ownership
- Comfortable working autonomously
- Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel
