About the role

  • The Accounting Manager will assist in preparing statements following regulatory and accounting guidelines.
  • This role is responsible for identifying and preventing discrepancies and helping set up control systems.
  • Own the financial close across the business and its entities
  • Balance sheet reconciliations across the business and its entities
  • Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements
  • Manage journal entries, invoices, expenses, etc. and reconcile accounts for monthly or annual closings
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
  • Oversee the production of periodic financial reports and ensure reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Assist in the the annual budget and forecast process and report significant budget differences to management
  • Provide financial analysis on a variety of areas
  • Work with external auditors and provide needed information for the annual audit
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a relevant accounting field
  • 1-3 years of experience leading people/processes to achieve business goals
  • Certified Public Accountant designation and/or public accounting experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and finance principles
  • Strong understanding of data analysis and forecasting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics D365 Finance & Operations)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)
