About the role

  • Integrate software into the test suites at the MDIOC, primarily Virtual servers; support System Test events by operating suites.
  • Operate and troubleshoot systems during test events and integration activities.
  • Work with external personnel to resolve test lab issues; work with Operations and Sustainment as well as Level-II/III support personnel to resolve installation and processing issues.
  • Create and modify scripts to extract specific information from log files; perform data analysis of input, internal, and output message data; troubleshoot both test and operational issues; document test results and prepare test status documentation.
  • Read test plan documents and procedures; create Test Discrepancy Reports to document issues and assist software development personnel with the investigation and resolution of issues; develop troubleshooting procedures and work-around documents; develop and execute detailed test plans and procedures to test in an integrated environment or to test specific capabilities.
  • Participate in integration tests with external elements and sensors; review and provide feedback of system specifications, development, test, network documents as necessary and Attend meetings with other FAs, customers, etc.
  • Position is based in Colorado Springs at the MDIOC but multi-week travel to customer sites and contractor sites (e.g., Huntsville, HWY83) may be required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of system/network administration experience with a Associate's degree and/or relevant information technology certifications
  • Either knowledge of or practical experience with industry or DoD test methodologies and terminology.
  • Experience with operational systems (e.g., Aegis, Patriot), development systems (e.g., GMD, THAAD, Aegis), and off-the-shelf statistical analysis packages a plus
  • The integration of system components within an integrated test environment.
  • Working knowledge of system design and overall integration into an operational environment.
  • Knowledge of administration in at least one of these three domains: Networking, Linux, and/or Windows.
  • The desire to conduct complex troubleshooting by analyzing proprietary application logs, firewall policies, and interface documentation.
  • Technical knowledge of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Missile Defense System including sensors, shooters, command and control systems, and networks is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile Methods, and Capability and Feature definition is a plus
  • High proficiency with Networking (Junos a plus)
