About the role
- Produce a minimum of 5-7 stories weekly for publication
- Complete interviews and take photographs in the Parry Sound area
- Share information with and from Indigenous communities
- Focus on narrative sovereignty for urban Indigenous residents' issues
Requirements
- A journalism degree, diploma or equivalent experience is preferred
- Experience working in a newsroom is preferred
- Curious individual with a knack for storytelling
- Proven news judgment and a strong work ethic
- Effective organizational skills, ability to manage time and prioritize tasks appropriately
- Photography skills
- Must be prepared to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Must have access to reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Understanding of Canadian Libel Law and Canadian Press Style
