About the role
- Lead the development and delivery of the area’s events strategy.
- Generate significant commercial events income.
- Collaborate with a diverse range of community organisers.
- Steer the creation of a multi-layered, area-wide programme that brings year-round vibrancy and activity.
- Help shape events that attract national and international audiences while also enriching local lives, supporting community well-being, and nurturing local creative talent.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge and experience of staging events preferably outdoor events.
- A strong understanding of event health and safety legislation, including the Purple Guide and Martyn’s Law.
- Amazing organisational skills and the ability to manage a team that oversees 80 to 100 community events as well as our own produced events such as Bay of Lights Illumination Trail and English Riviera Airshow.
- A track record in working with producers of large-scale commercial and non-commercial events.
- Experience in encouraging these producers to collaborate meaningfully with local creatives and community partners.
- The drive, professionalism, and passion to help turn our ambition for the English Riviera into reality.
