About the role

  • Prepare accurate and strategic pricing estimates for new projects and ongoing client work, aligned with client specifications, turnaround requirements, and profitability targets.
  • Prepare clear, detailed client estimates and pricing documentation; partner with Sales on quote requests, RFPs, and RFQs.
  • Create pro forma pricing models for large programs, new products, new clients, and strategic opportunities.
  • Review historical pricing and production data to establish expected price points and margin performance for repeat work.
  • Compare transaction line items against client pricing grids, estimates, and project notes to ensure all billable work is captured correctly.
  • Review and validate invoices to ensure pricing accuracy, logical sequencing of chargeable events, correct specifications, and compliance with client agreements.
  • Review print vendor invoices, analyze production costs, and calculate appropriate sell pricing.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize profitability through pricing strategies, margin improvement, and pricing discipline.
  • Maintain and manage client pricing grids, ensuring accuracy and implementation of approved price increases.
  • Conduct post-audit pricing reviews to validate that pricing strategies are delivering expected financial results.
  • Partner with Sales and Finance to resolve invoice questions, disputes, and adjustments as needed.
  • Serve as a pricing liaison between Sales, Operations, and Finance to balance revenue growth, production utilization, and profitability.
  • Monitor project life cycles to ensure timely closure and accurate revenue recognition and accruals.
  • Compile and analyze competitor pricing and market trends to support pricing decisions.
  • May involve preparing client reporting, including budget support, accruals, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 8+ years of professional pricing, estimating, or related experience.
  • Experience with print estimating and production pricing strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting mutual fund, variable fund, or regulated financial communications is a plus.
