About the role

  • Review existing research, retail notes, and product documentation to understand the current sales process and its gaps
  • Conduct interviews with retail associates to surface the most common close-stage objections and missing proof points
  • Assess the current state of the Sales Companion Website and Tonal's retail demo mode
  • Define the highest-leverage opportunities and align stakeholders on a prioritized plan
  • Drive an MVP of a lightweight companion experience for associates to use on iPads or laptops during or after demos
  • Ensure the tool helps associates address common objections with clearer pricing, membership framing, transformation stories, feature explainers, install guidance, and outcome proof
  • Identify and prioritize targeted improvements to Tonal's demo mode, including things like more realistic stats, better surfacing of Daily Lift, stronger progress proof, and a more personalized, outcome-oriented experience
  • Write clear product requirements that translate associate and customer needs into actionable engineering work
  • Manage trade-offs between impact, effort, and time-to-ship

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in business, engineering, design, or a related field
  • Strong product instincts: you can identify user needs, frame problems clearly, and translate them into actionable solutions
  • Analytically rigorous and able to back decisions with data
  • An effective communicator who can synthesize research, align stakeholders, and write crisp product specs
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to make progress without a fully defined playbook
  • Collaborative across design, engineering, and go-to-market teams
  • Prior PM internship or product-adjacent experience (design, strategy, research, etc.)
  • Familiarity with retail, consumer hardware, or fitness/health products
  • Experience with user research or usability testing
  • Exposure to agile or sprint-based development workflows
  • Experience using AI tools to accelerate research, writing, or product work.
