About the role

  • Lead the full sales cycle—from lead generation and customer engagement to negotiation, installation coordination, and post-sale follow-up.
  • Identify and engage potential customers, establishing contact with key decision-makers and building long-term relationships.
  • Execute strategic sales plans to meet and exceed revenue, product mix, and profitability targets.
  • Drive market development by initiating and nurturing new business opportunities in the upcoming deposit return system in Portugal.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations tailored to client needs.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals effectively, ensuring alignment with TOMRA’s commercial goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless customer onboarding and satisfaction.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform and adapt sales strategies; provide regular reporting on sales activities, pipeline status, and forecasts.
  • Represent TOMRA at industry events and trade shows, enhancing brand visibility.

Requirements

  • Business acumen and the ability to make commercially sound decisions.
  • A proactive, self-driven approach to identifying and developing sales opportunities.
  • 4+ years of successful sales experience in technical/mechanical equipment industries, ideally within modern grocery retail.
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding targets and building long-term client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of Sales & Service models; solution-oriented and trustworthy; good knowledge of the Portuguese market.
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English (Spanish a plus).
  • Able to work independently and in teams.
  • Environmentally conscious with a passion for sustainability.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; sales certifications and valid driver’s license are advantages.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
