Develop and implement global mobility policies and procedures, utilizing a strong understanding of industry best practices to inform global strategy.
Oversee and manage all program financials, including budget forecasting, tracking, and reporting to leadership.
Consult on global expansion initiatives, providing mobility and immigration guidance for new market entry and founding team relocations.
Manage the full lifecycle of international assignments and relocations, including intake, preparing assignment packages, and ensuring holistic support throughout the assignment and repatriation.
Serve as a consultative resource for employees, providing expert guidance on policies, processes, and issue resolution for those on or preparing for assignment.
Drive change management and communication plans to ensure smooth adoption of new policies and risk management frameworks for mobile employees.
Oversee year-end tax processes and partner with internal teams (Payroll, Equity) and external vendors on assignee and mobile tax questions.
Track and analyze program trends, case metrics, and financial performance, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
Manage all broad-based visa programs, including sponsored work permits and the U.S. H-1B cap cycle, and partner with Talent Acquisition on candidate visa needs.
Ensure right-to-work compliance in all Toast locations, including Form I-9 requirements.
Provide strategic advice on immigration impact throughout the employee lifecycle (hiring, promotion, job changes, termination).
Manage and cultivate relationships with external vendors for destination services, immigration, and tax advice, ensuring quality service and compliance.
Provide leadership to the global mobility and immigration team, including managing one direct report focused on immigration.
Requirements
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of mobility management experience in a fast-paced environment, inclusive of expatriate tax, global immigration, and/or global payroll experience.
Understanding of relevant global immigration, balance sheets, assignment services, compensation, benefits, equity and payroll aspects of an assignment with the ability to provide directional guidance to assignees or business partners.
Deep understanding of expat taxation including, but not limited to, understanding and communicating the differences of cash and equity taxation by country, understanding the corporate tax ramifications, and working with Toast’s corporate tax team and payroll to ensure tax compliance in both home and host countries.
Understanding of global assignment financial management, including an understanding of payroll, cost projection and assignee transfer processes.
Ability to assess the needs of an employee before relocation, determining whether their deployment is legally feasible, consistent with internal practices, and in compliance with established policies.
Strong technical aptitude and demonstrated ability to leverage technology tools to create efficiency, improve processes and client experience.
Experience in reporting, data analysis, and Excel including creating pivot reports, VLOOKUPS, and charts/graphs partnered with analytical and problem solving experience.
Experience reviewing company policies and practices to determine appropriate action.
