Backend Engineer

• As a Principal Software Engineer - GoLang, you will work within the Engineering department to design, develop, and support enterprise solutions by contributing to the products and infrastructure for CIQ.
• You will also maintain our systems' capacity and performance.
• You need to be able to troubleshoot and improve applications and processes.
• You’ll analyze current code and industry developments to design engineering solutions to solve problems and create seamless user experiences.
• Leading and participating in architecture-level discussions, planning, and implementation.
• Researching to ensure that what we are building is always the best path forward.
• Documenting projects to share knowledge and facilitate integration for users.
• Driving proof of concepts and minimal viable products for demonstration.
• Supporting multiple services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
• Improving products by collaborating with Engineering teams, Product teams, Sales teams, and open-source communities (as needed) on optimal and relevant solutions while sharing knowledge.

Principal Software Engineer – GoLang

Frontend Engineer

• As a Principal Linux Engineer, you will be part of the team that owns software solutions for Rocky Linux from CIQ (RLC) and will be primarily responsible for building, patching, and testing userspace packages in the operating system.
• You will also work on improving tooling and automation as part of the package-building process in the OS.
• You need an understanding of CVE’s and how to remediate CVE’s in RPM packages that are shipped to customers.
• You will also be working on how to customize, optimize, and create various packages to improve the customer experience with our products.
• You will build out testing for both specific software as well as testing the system as a whole.
• Working closely with the engineering, product, open-source community, and sales teams to develop relevant solutions.
• Taking part in architecture-level discussions, planning, and implementation.
• Documenting each project to share knowledge and facilitate integration for users.
• Driving proofs of concept and minimum viable products for demonstration.
• Focusing on quality by developing automated tests.
• A Releasing fast and releasing often, software development mentality.
• Leveraging source control (Github/ Gitlab) for all development while collaborating with internal teams and the open-source community.

• Deployment on standard server architectures, virtual machines, and cloud infrastructure.

Principal Linux Engineer

Full-stack Engineer

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Linux kernel components for our products/services at CIQ.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into efficient and scalable kernel designs.
• Write high-quality, modular, and well-documented code in C and other relevant languages, adhering to coding standards and best practices.
• Develop and maintain kernel-specific testing and automation tools to improve how we build, test, and release kernels.
• Debug and resolve complex kernel-level issues, including memory management, process scheduling, and inter-process communication.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of kernel components with hardware platforms.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in the Linux kernel community and relevant technologies, evaluating their potential impact on our products and services.
• Review code submissions from team members and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality and consistency.
• Conduct performance analysis and optimization of kernel components to meet specified performance targets.
• Document design decisions, APIs, and processes for future reference and knowledge sharing.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering their growth and development.
