Work alongside a multi-disciplined team of engineering (civil, electrical, mechanical, and structural) and architectural professionals.
Become engaged in a variety of active mechanical design projects within the industrial, government, education, mining, and freight rail sectors.
Assist with preparation of studies, design specifications, and detailed drawings.
Create process flow diagrams, piping and instrument diagrams, and equipment arrangement drawings.
Assist with preliminary site/conditions assessments or construction administration responsibilities on occasion.
Be exposed to various stages of a project life cycle from conception through construction to learn consulting practices.
Primarily work from the Duluth, MN office with possible flexible/hybrid arrangements; expected 40 hours/week with occasional overtime during summer 2026.
Requirements
Undergraduate pursuing an accredited bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Prior experience, previous coursework, or strong interest in designing a variety of building and/or industrial mechanical systems.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Previous experience or formal training with AutoCAD and Revit MEP or similar 3D design software.
Strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills; Ability to ask questions, engage in discussions with team members, and assist with technical report and specification preparation.
Ability to travel locally as needed for project assignments, team meetings, site visits, etc.
Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Available to work 40 hours per week with occasional overtime throughout the summer of 2026 from mid-May through mid-August.
Advantageous: General understanding of drafting techniques and construction plan development practices.
Advantageous: Previous experience or coursework related to pipe stress analysis.
