About the role
- Assess exposure and human health risks from chemicals in contaminated environmental media and consumer products;
- Manage and analyze data to support environmental investigations and prepare tables, figures, and other data exhibits;
- Perform calculations to support human health risk assessments and environmental regulatory compliance;
- Conduct literature searches and critically review and evaluate scientific studies regarding toxicological, biological, chemical fate and transport, exposure, or other risk assessment subject matters;
- Prepare technical reports, letters, memoranda, workplans, proposals, investigative reports, and presentations;
- Focus on team project delivery, taking direction primarily from supervisors and Project Managers.
- Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, environmental engineering or science, toxicology, public health, or a related science field. (required)
- At least 2 years of applicable experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (preferred)
- Prior internship or work experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
- Strong work ethic and must be a self-starter with excellent written and oral communication skills. (required)
- Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, detail-oriented work style, willingness to learn, and commitment to workplace health and safety. (required)
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully as part of a team and achieve team objectives. (required)
- Demonstrated competency in statistics and quantitative data analysis. (preferred)
- Knowledge of and experience in exposure assessment, human health risk assessment, toxicology, and related regulations. (preferred)
- Prior research experience in environmental science or toxicology. (preferred)
- The ability and willingness to travel and perform fieldwork as needed. (required)
- Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
