About the role

  • Civil design and site layout;
  • Monitoring heavy civil construction projects;
  • Geotechnical engineering analyses such as slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, seismic, and seepage;
  • Dam and levee evaluations;
  • Geotechnical and site characterization;
  • Development and management of instrumentation monitoring systems;
  • Project/task management and proposal preparation support;
  • Developing construction documents;
  • Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications;
  • Fieldwork associated with design and construction services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same (preferred)
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E. P.G.) (required)
  • At least 7 years directly relevant experience in a consulting environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
  • Knowledge of relevant geotechnical engineering software (e.g., slope stability) (required)
  • Knowledge of numerical modeling tools (preferred)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed (required)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills (required)
  • Field work and overnight travel may be required.
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
