Medical Director

• Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the Women's Health department, reporting to the Chief Medical Officer.
• Supervise, mentor, coach, and develop clinicians; manage peer review and performance reviews for direct reports.
• Manage administrative responsibilities: integrate and coordinate clinical services, schedule and conduct departmental staff meetings, orient and mentor new providers.
• Utilize department and individual-specific data and dashboards to guide operational and clinical excellence; develop educational programming.
• Participate in recruitment, hiring, corrective action counseling, and terminations as needed.
• Support Physicians and NP/PA/CNM’s in accurate and timely completion of documentation and follow-up tasks.
• Assume clinical responsibility with the Chief Medical Officer and provide regular reporting; facilitate monthly department meetings aligned with organizational mission.
• Foster quality initiatives, develop clinical pathways to reduce unwarranted practice variation, and remove barriers to achieving quality medical care.
• Perform health assessments, order/perform diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, evaluate psychosocial/family aspects, diagnose common acute and chronic conditions, and provide follow-up care.
• Provide direct clinical medical services in the board certified/eligible medical specialty, adhering to standards and health center protocols.
• Provide leadership, vision, and direction of the department; assist in formulation or revision of medical program/clinical services policies and protocols.
• Assist in design, implementation, and evaluation of clinical programs; plan and supervise new technologies and programs; collaborate with other departments for integration of services.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer or Chief Executive Officer; may assume CMO responsibilities on an interim basis when directed.
