About the role
- Overseeing the design, implementation, and administration of employee benefits programs
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Providing expert guidance to both employees and management regarding health & welfare, retirement, leaves and other benefit offerings
- Collaborating closely with HR, payroll, and external vendors to optimize benefits processes and resolve employee inquiries
- Supporting annual open enrollment processes and the communication of benefits changes or updates
- Analyzing benefits data and trends to recommend improvements or cost-saving measures
- Managing relationships with benefits vendors and carriers
- Preparing and maintaining documentation, reports, and records related to benefits administration
- Managing benefits audits for assigned programs and ensuring accurate payroll deductions related to benefits
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration
- Strong knowledge of benefits laws and regulations
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration software (preferably Workday)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to think strategically
- Demonstrated ability to lead own work and deliver on expected outcomes
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CEBS, CBP, SHRM) preferred
