• Develop, document, and refine core organizational processes to strengthen operational effectiveness and ensure alignment across teams.
• Implement tools and systems that improve coordination, tracking, and accountability across functions.

• Manage the full lifecycle of contracts (drafting and negotiation to execution, renewal, and recordkeeping) in collaboration with internal stakeholders and legal counsel.
• Support organizational compliance activities working with the Senior Director, Finance and Senior Manager, Finance, ensuring adherence to policies, documentation standards, and external requirements.
• Serve as an internal connector to help teams translate strategic priorities into clear operational actions.
• Lead or support cross-functional projects that enhance organizational efficiency and team coordination.
• Track progress against operations function goals and surface process improvements to the COO.

Senior Associate, Operations

Communications

• Design and lead an integrated communications, influence, and marketing strategy that advances TOU’s mission, amplifies our impact, and supports fundraising and partnership goals.
• Manage TOU’s brand across all channels — ensuring our voice, visuals, and storytelling reflect our values and partnership-driven approach.
• Lead TOU’s media and press relations strategy — cultivating relationships with journalists, editors, and outlets to elevate TOU’s voice and thought leadership across national and sector-specific platforms.
• Develop multi-channel campaigns (digital, video, social, print, and events) that engage funders, partners, policymakers, and the broader public.
• Use data and analytics to inform strategy, measure engagement, and continuously improve communication outcomes.
• Lead content strategy and oversee the creation of high-quality multimedia storytelling — including videos, digital campaigns, reports, and presentations.
• Capture and elevate lived-experience stories that authentically demonstrate TOU’s work and impact.
• Collaborate with internal and external creatives to produce innovative content and maintain a unified organizational narrative.
• Design and operationalize an AI-powered content production studio in collaboration with the CEO’s AI Innovation Initiatives.

Director, Communications – Marketing

Financial Planning and Analysis

• Set the vision for a forward-looking, mission-aligned finance function that supports strategic decision-making, financial sustainability, and organizational growth.
• Lead from within the work—not above it—by staying hands-on with budgeting, modeling, and financial analysis; you understand the numbers because you’ve built them, not just reviewed them.
• Lead the development and implementation of integrated budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning models that support both long-term strategy and day-to-day execution.
• Serve as the organization’s senior-most financial leader—partnering with the COO and executive team to align financial strategy with organizational strategy and programmatic goals.
• Use financial modeling (sustainability, cost allocations, funder reporting, risk assessment) and scenario planning to proactively inform organizational decisions, assess risks, and surface opportunities.
• Bring a “builder’s mindset” to create and refine financial systems, policies, and tools from the ground up—ensuring they are accessible, scalable, and aligned with best practices.
• Embed transparency and fairness into all financial practices, ensuring budgeting, resource allocation, and reporting reflect the organization’s values and goals.
• Leverage AI and automation tools to increase capacity, enhance forecasting, and improve the clarity and accessibility of financial data across the organization.
• Translate complex financial information into actionable insights, via reports, presentations, and dashboards, for diverse internal and external audiences, including staff, board members, and funders.
• In collaboration with SD, People & Culture, ensure timekeeping systems and operations support project-based budgeting.
• Ensure TOU has visibility and remains in compliance with grant management and spending.
• Oversee key organizational operations including contracts, procurement, facilities, cross-functional compliance, and administrative systems—ensuring they are designed with best practices, efficient, compliant, and aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
• Supervise Operations team members and provide strategic oversight to ensure operational systems and processes scale with the organization’s needs.
• Build and implement cross-functional systems (e.g., time tracking, budgeting tools) that link operational data with financial planning and performance while also driving operational risk management and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and grant-related requirements, while aligning internal policies with organizational culture and priorities.
• Manage and mentor a small but high-performing team, creating clear goals, professional development pathways, and a strong culture of trust and accountability.
• Lead change management and ownership across the organization by increasing financial literacy, developing training, tools, and partnership models for budget owners and team leads.
• Foster a collaborative, learning-oriented environment that values transparency, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
