About the role
- Perform on-site installation, repair, maintenance, qualification, and validation of Liquid Chromatography, Charged Aerosol Detectors, Mass Spectrometry, and other instruments
- Use customer management software to track service calls, manage parts inventories, and complete job tasks
- Review reports and documentation from customers, and inspect malfunctioning products to determine nature and scope of problem
- Analyze, review, and inspect findings to determine source of problem, and recommend repair, replacement, or other corrective action
- Coordinate problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs
- Analyze chemistry and instrument reports in the process of diagnosing technical or application problems
- Develop and conduct training on the safe operations of the equipment and demonstrate skills to trainees, including both team members and customers
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Chemistry or related technical field
- 5+ years hands-on experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating sophisticated analytical instruments
- Demonstrated expertise with ultra-high vacuum systems, high voltage electronics, and complex electro-mechanical systems
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities for hardware and software issues
- Ability to prioritize service requests and produce clear and concise documentation
- Must be available to travel overnight up to 50% within the territory or other areas as required
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. with assistance and work in laboratory environments
