About the role

- Join a dedicated Fraud Risk Analytics team within Credit Risk to protect customers and the business
- Analyse fraud trends and behaviours using large datasets to inform strategy
- Design, test and implement fraud rules and controls across the customer journey (from new credit applications to account takeovers)
- Monitor performance of fraud strategies and identify opportunities for improvement
- Deliver clear, compelling insights and recommendations to stakeholders across the business
- Collaborate closely with operational fraud prevention teams (Bolton and Speke) and wider Credit Risk colleagues
- Manage multiple priorities, balancing day-to-day analysis with longer-term strategic improvements
- Use SQL, SAS, Python and advanced Excel to interrogate data and shape decisions
- Freedom to make critical decisions and see their impact quickly
Requirements
- A degree in a numerate subject (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or similar)
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL, SAS, Python or equivalent
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with fraud strategy, credit risk, or related analytics (experience with FICO Blaze Advisor or other decision engines is a plus)
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Great communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders and influencing decisions
- Collaborative, adaptable approach; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment
- Willingness/ability to undertake credit, CIFAS, Right to Work checks and possibly a DBS check if required by role
