Technical Product Manager

• Support the management of vessel data pipelines - in close collaboration with engineers and data analysts - to ensure our dataset is continuously updated.
• Contribute to evaluating new data sources and setting up ETLs to enhance our vessel particulars dataset.
• Collaborate closely with the squad dev lead, engineers, and analysts to translate technical needs into clear product requirements.
• Work with Sales and other client-facing teams to gather feedback, understand client requests, and help prioritise enhancements to the Vessels API.
• Assist in defining and refining processes to improve data quality, monitoring, and resilience against noisy or inconsistent sources.
• Monitor data quality through automated checks and offline processes, escalating or resolving errors as needed.
• Learn and apply knowledge of shipping concepts (vessel types, particulars, sanctions, ownership) and their connections to wider models in Signal.
• Help ensure seamless insertion of new-builds into the system.
• Document workflows and maintain organised product backlogs to support effective team execution.

Associate Technical Product Manager

• Build a strong understanding of backend architecture, data pipelines, and APIs, and how they power the Signal Ocean SaaS platform
• Translate complex technical and data science concepts into clear, actionable product requirements for backend engineers and data scientists
• Define and prioritize features related to backend services, analytics engines, and integrations, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
• Collaborate closely with data scientists and engineers to design solutions that transform raw data into usable insights for downstream applications
• Contribute to the collection and organization of product requirements and feedback from internal and external stakeholders, focusing on data-intensive workflows
• Ensure backend developments align with overall product strategy, supporting front-end teams and client-facing features indirectly
• Support successful product delivery by removing blockers, facilitating cross-team communication, and ensuring alignment throughout the development lifecycle
• Monitor backend performance, data quality, and system reliability through analytics and reporting, using insights to guide roadmap priorities
• Build deep knowledge of the shipping industry and bridge business needs with technical possibilities
