About the role
- Proactively identify and reach out to potential local merchants through outbound calls, emails and follow-ups.
- Qualify merchants' needs and assess the basic fit of offerings using defined sales criteria and guidelines.
- Confidently and clearly present Groupon's value proposition to small business owners.
- Independently close standard deals, using established pricing and offer frameworks.
- Maintain accurate activity tracking, pipeline updates and forecasts in Salesforce.
- Collaborate with commercial operations and the Merchant Success team to ensure smooth onboarding.
- Participate in call sessions, coaching and team meetings to continuously improve performance.
- Use AI-driven sales tools to support merchant outreach, prepare conversations and ensure effective follow-up.
- Apply AI-generated insights to improve messaging quality, prioritize next actions and maintain CRM data accuracy.
Requirements
- 0 to 2 years of experience in sales, business development, customer acquisition or a client-facing role.
- Strong communication skills and comfortable interacting with business owners by phone or in person.
- Willingness to learn structured sales processes and receive ongoing feedback.
- Understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs), targets and performance expectations.
- Ability to manage a high workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce or similar) is a plus.
