About the role

  • Proactively identify and reach out to potential local merchants through outbound calls, emails and follow-ups.
  • Qualify merchants' needs and assess the basic fit of offerings using defined sales criteria and guidelines.
  • Confidently and clearly present Groupon's value proposition to small business owners.
  • Independently close standard deals, using established pricing and offer frameworks.
  • Maintain accurate activity tracking, pipeline updates and forecasts in Salesforce.
  • Collaborate with commercial operations and the Merchant Success team to ensure smooth onboarding.
  • Participate in call sessions, coaching and team meetings to continuously improve performance.
  • Use AI-driven sales tools to support merchant outreach, prepare conversations and ensure effective follow-up.
  • Apply AI-generated insights to improve messaging quality, prioritize next actions and maintain CRM data accuracy.

Requirements

  • 0 to 2 years of experience in sales, business development, customer acquisition or a client-facing role.
  • Strong communication skills and comfortable interacting with business owners by phone or in person.
  • Willingness to learn structured sales processes and receive ongoing feedback.
  • Understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs), targets and performance expectations.
  • Ability to manage a high workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce or similar) is a plus.
