About the role

  • Serve as a member of the Philanthropy Consulting team of Global Development
  • Lead the management and growth of a bench of external consultants
  • Deliver consulting services to internal philanthropy teams
  • Campaign planning and feasibility studies
  • Internal assessments, case development, donor and volunteer engagement, pipeline development, strategic fundraising counsel, and campaign management
  • Develop and ensure comprehensive methodology, tools, and resources needed consistent with fundraising approach
  • Train and coach external consultants
  • Analyze situations, evaluate alternatives, and implement solutions to improve effectiveness
  • Design and lead collaborative, complex, and diversified projects
  • Direct or participate in negotiations for complex agreements
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance overall performance

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years related experience, including 3 years as a consultant to a fundraising program
  • End-to-end fundraising campaign experience
  • Experience analyzing program results
  • Experience building and maintaining long-term relationships with fundraising program constituents
  • Program management and experience managing cross-functional projects
  • People or vendor or contractor management
  • Good written communication skills
  • Experience working across complex organizations
  • Experience, coursework, or other training in current trends in relevant field
  • Cross-cultural experience fundraising from donors outside of the US (nice-to-have)
  • Ability to make strategic decisions based on analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment
  • Ability to train on and direct complex processes and procedures
  • Ability to work in partnership with others in a collaborative or advisory role, including senior staff.
