About the role
- Serve as a member of the Philanthropy Consulting team of Global Development
- Lead the management and growth of a bench of external consultants
- Deliver consulting services to internal philanthropy teams
- Campaign planning and feasibility studies
- Internal assessments, case development, donor and volunteer engagement, pipeline development, strategic fundraising counsel, and campaign management
- Develop and ensure comprehensive methodology, tools, and resources needed consistent with fundraising approach
- Train and coach external consultants
- Analyze situations, evaluate alternatives, and implement solutions to improve effectiveness
- Design and lead collaborative, complex, and diversified projects
- Direct or participate in negotiations for complex agreements
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance overall performance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years related experience, including 3 years as a consultant to a fundraising program
- End-to-end fundraising campaign experience
- Experience analyzing program results
- Experience building and maintaining long-term relationships with fundraising program constituents
- Program management and experience managing cross-functional projects
- People or vendor or contractor management
- Good written communication skills
- Experience working across complex organizations
- Experience, coursework, or other training in current trends in relevant field
- Cross-cultural experience fundraising from donors outside of the US (nice-to-have)
- Ability to make strategic decisions based on analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment
- Ability to train on and direct complex processes and procedures
- Ability to work in partnership with others in a collaborative or advisory role, including senior staff.
