About the role
- Provide highly specialized investment-related services to carbon projects in the Natural Climate Solutions Accelerator
- Conduct risk analyses, due diligence, investment readiness training, and preparation of investment materials for the Global Carbon Markets team and BUs working with them
- Administer and maintain finance activities in accordance with TNC policies and procedures
- Assist all levels of personnel working on NCSA carbon projects and work to build capacity of carbon project staff
- Analyze project risks and track implementation of risk mitigation strategy
- Conduct due diligence gap analysis and prepare project teams for due diligence process
- Co-develop carbon credit marketing and investor pitch material with Business Developers
- Support the negotiation process by tracking document revisions and facilitating communication among stakeholders
- Ensure programmatic commitments, TNC policies and financial standards are met and managed for compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field and 4 years' related experience or equivalent combination
- Experience as an investment associate or analyst with a climate, energy, infrastructure, or project finance team at investment firm or commercial bank; OR related experience securing investment for a project developer
- Proven experience in investment analysis, due diligence, and / or transaction execution
- Technical expertise in preparing investment materials, including investment memoranda, presentations, draft terms, and investment risk analyses
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including mastery of PowerPoint
- Multi-lingual skills are an asset; preference for Spanish language skills
- Experience working with global projects and in emerging markets preferred
- Knowledge of climate finance and carbon markets preferred
