About the role
- Provide legal counsel and representation in proceedings involving housing and consumer issues
- Represent clients at all appearances, hearings, and proceedings
- Provide legal counsel to first-time home buyers
- Provide legal counsel to homeowners at risk of foreclosure
- Conduct legal research in each case as required
- Maintain knowledge of legislative changes and current case law
- Consult with and review work of assigned support staff
- Conduct community outreach, training, and education
Requirements
- Juris Doctor
- Admission to the New York Bar
- High level of initiative, independence, and self-driven
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent negotiating ability
- Strong PC skills to include Word and Excel
- Ability to think and speak quickly and accurately
- Respect and consideration towards our clients
- Must have reliable transportation, as multi-county travel may be required
