Chief of Staff

• Directly impacts the organization’s culture and productivity by coordinating and streamlining strategic and cross-departmental initiatives
• Serves as a member of and guides the activities of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
• Oversees internal communication
• Supports the implementation and execution of the CEO’s and SLT’s vision for the future of the organization
• Coordinates the process of setting short- and long-term goals
• Oversees the tracking of progress against established goals
• Provides high-level operational and strategic support and advice to the SLT on complex projects of high importance
• Assumes responsibility for the day-to-day coordination and operational effectiveness of leadership team processes
• Works with the SLT to support organizational culture and help define and execute strategic initiatives
• Manages multiple duties simultaneously, handling both long-term projects and immediate time-sensitive matters

• Shape THL’s growing planned giving program
• Serve as both a strategist and frontline fundraiser
• Develop and execute a dynamic and comprehensive planned giving strategy
• Manage a portfolio of over 200 Legacy Society members and 300 identified planned giving prospects
• Co-create the vision for the program
• Advise colleagues across the Development department
• Guide donors in thoughtful long-term philanthropy

Associate Director, Planned Giving – Legacy Giving Advisor

• Drive transformational philanthropic investment to end factory farming worldwide.
• Own the strategy and performance of a $6M+ major gifts program, with responsibility for growth, retention, and donor engagement.
• Set strategy for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors giving $10,000–$1,000,000+, connecting donor priorities to THL’s programs to maximize global impact.
• Manage and mentor a team of 3 Philanthropy Officers, fostering a culture of inclusion, accountability and continuous learning.
• Partner with program staff to create donor engagement plans, impact reports, proposal materials, and stewardship pathways.
• Manage a personal portfolio of high-value major donors and prospects, developed in partnership with Development Leadership.
• Partner with the CEO and senior leadership on high-stakes donor meetings, advising leadership on donor dynamics, philanthropic trends, and strategic opportunities.
• Build long-term relationships with high-net-worth individuals and institutional funders.
• Partner with Development Operations and IT to optimize the use of THL’s CRM (EveryAction) to manage portfolios, track performance, and advance donors through the pipeline.
• Collaborate with IT to develop dashboards and KPIs that inform forecasting and long-term revenue planning.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, and Legal to ensure compliance and ethical fundraising practices, and steward donor trust.
• Collaborate with Programs staff to identify funding needs and develop strategies that secure long-term support for THL’s priorities and maximize impact.
• Support fundraising events, donor briefings, donor travel, and cultivation opportunities, representing THL at key conferences and events.

Operations

• Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for the entire Operations department
• Develop and execute a comprehensive vision for People, Finance, IT, and Administration
• Establish and promote high standards for team dynamics and collaboration across the organization
• Lead and facilitate organizational change and crisis management initiatives
• Coach and inspire a team of senior leaders in the Operations department
• Foster seamless collaboration and synergy across the entire Operations department
• Serve as a proactive and collaborative business partner to the Senior Leadership Team
