Deliver superior customer service and successfully investigate, reserve, recommend and implement strategies to resolve claims
Partner with Staff Legal and outside counsel to resolve General Liability cases including Premise Liability, Operations Claims, Product Liability, Professional Claims, Advertising Injury, Homeowner Liability, Employment Liability and others
Claim File Management: plan, recommend, reserve and execute file strategies including investigation, valuation, disposition and settlement of assigned claims
Properly assess the exposure of assigned claims and establish priorities
Manage vendors and coordinate investigation and litigation activities
Develop advanced functional knowledge to interpret and apply insurance coverage and jurisdictional expertise
Maintain knowledge of claim loss cost management initiatives and utilize them appropriately
Identify mitigation, subrogation, and other recovery opportunities
Obtain first-hand customer information; establish and maintain effective relationships with customers
Utilize verbal and numerical critical thinking skills to gather information, apply sound reasoning and draw appropriate conclusions
Accurately resolve complex coverage and compensability issues and negotiate highly complex claims to appropriate disposition
Properly reserve highly complex claims and apply statutory laws and regulations of applicable jurisdictions
Support and help create a team environment that celebrates diversity and inclusion and build effective relationships inside and outside the organization
Requirements
2 to 5+ years relevant experience managing general liability claims strongly preferred
Technical expertise in managing claims of high complexity
Strong computer proficiency in utilizing software programs
Excellent communication skills, oral, written, collaboration and negotiation
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Effective customer service skills
Adept at managing conflict as an opportunity to listen and share information while negotiating a win/win outcome
Leader among claim handlers providing advanced expertise to teammates
College degree preferred or 5+ years relevant work experience required
State required certification exams and adjusting licenses
JD, SCLA or CPCU designation a plus
Must obtain and maintain a State Adjuster's License within 30 business days of licensing training completion
High speed broadband internet (hardwired modem/router) with minimum upload/download speeds of 10 Mbps/75 Mbps
