Design and implement cloud-based database architectures that meet application requirements and organizational goals
Collaborate with application teams to architect scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud database solutions
Partner with the Cloud Engineering and Site Reliability Engineers to integrate database CI/CD pipelines into their application deployments
Have in-depth knowledge of designing and building automation for database provisioning and repetitive tasks using infrastructure as code tools
Develop and maintain disaster recovery and high availability strategies
Proficient at preparing deployment and standard operational procedure manuals
Manage source control, branching strategies, and CI/CD workflows using GitHub
Automate the monitoring and alerting of database performance and availability
Evaluate new product releases and make recommendations on implementation of newest versions
Provide second-level support for troubleshooting production incidents

Requirements

>10 years of professional experience managing relational and NoSQL databases in a cloud environment (AWS and GCP)
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
Experience with GitHub for version control and workflow automation
Familiarity with Jenkins pipelines, Ansible automation and ServiceNow
Solid understanding of networking concepts, VPCs, subnets, and security best practices
Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent critical thinking skills
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline
Strong documentation skills in creating and maintaining operational policies and procedures
A desire for continuous learning
