About the role

  • Design and implement cloud-based database architectures that meet application requirements and organizational goals
  • Collaborate with application teams to architect scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud database solutions
  • Partner with the Cloud Engineering and Site Reliability Engineers to integrate database CI/CD pipelines into their application deployments
  • Have in-depth knowledge of designing and building automation for database provisioning and repetitive tasks using infrastructure as code tools
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and high availability strategies
  • Proficient at preparing deployment and standard operational procedure manuals
  • Manage source control, branching strategies, and CI/CD workflows using GitHub
  • Automate the monitoring and alerting of database performance and availability
  • Evaluate new product releases and make recommendations on implementation of newest versions
  • Provide second-level support for troubleshooting production incidents

Requirements

  • >10 years of professional experience managing relational and NoSQL databases in a cloud environment (AWS and GCP)
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
  • Experience with GitHub for version control and workflow automation
  • Familiarity with Jenkins pipelines, Ansible automation and ServiceNow
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, VPCs, subnets, and security best practices
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent critical thinking skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline
  • Strong documentation skills in creating and maintaining operational policies and procedures
  • A desire for continuous learning
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
