About the role
- Manage the HR customer service desk, ensuring prompt, professional, and solution-oriented support for managers, staff, and applicants.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for HR-related inquiries.
- Supervise full-time staff and student employees, assigning tasks, providing coaching and mentorship, conducting performance evaluations, and supporting professional development to ensure high-quality HR service delivery.
- Apply systems thinking to analyze employee data and generate actionable reports.
- Lead initiatives to enhance onboarding and customer service experiences.
- Oversee onboarding processes, ensuring alignment with institutional best practices and compliance requirements.
- Serve as a liaison with campus partners to coordinate background checks, I-9 verification, compliance training, and employee records management.
- Oversee and triage incoming HR service requests received through the ticketing system, office walk-ins, and email.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of HR transactions in Workday.
- Monitor and manage HR workflows, proactively identifying and addressing bottlenecks.
- Ensure adherence to UT policies and procedures.
- Oversee and maintain HR filing systems and records.
- Manage the collection, organization, and timely processing of recurring employment documentation.
- Identify and escalate complex or sensitive HR issues to the HR leadership team.
- Lead and contribute to strategic HR initiatives and cross-functional projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human resource management, business administration, social sciences, public administration or a related field.
- Five years of experience in human resources administration or related field.
- Use of personal computer and other standard office equipment.
- More than five years of experience in human resources administration (Preferred).
- At least two years of supervisory experience (Preferred).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (Preferred).
- HR Certification (Preferred).
- Experience working with sensitive and confidential information in an office setting (Preferred).
- Experience working in a customer service environment (Preferred).
- Demonstrated organization and prioritization skills (Preferred).
