About the role
- Own the success of College Board’s Test Mgmt. & Setup Application and serve as the single point of accountability for the product backlog
- Set the strategic direction and define and maintain a product roadmap that reimagines core capabilities with a focus on usability and measurable outcomes
- Define and deliver extensible platform capabilities that future-proof the product and enable modular, configurable functionality
- Break down roadmap initiatives into feature-level OKRs/KPIs tied to user experience, platform reliability, and operational performance
- Own and maintain a clear, actionable, and prioritized product backlog and lead agile delivery workflows (sprint planning, standups, demos, retros)
- Build and test prototypes to validate assumptions early and write user stories with detailed acceptance criteria; validate delivery by accepting completed work and leading end-of-sprint reviews
- Collaborate closely with design, engineering, QA, and Product Management to shorten feedback loops and accelerate delivery of high-value capabilities
- Partner with QA and Design teams to define test cases and support user acceptance testing (UAT) for critical features
- Lead user and market research to prioritize enhancements that reduce friction, increase adoption, and improve the test-day configuration experience
- Serve as the go-to communicator of product progress—leading demos, drafting feature briefs, delivering updates, sharing release notes and training documentation
- Engage directly with external partners to capture test day management requirements and influence the product roadmap
- Measure success via backlog visibility, on-time delivery for Spring 2026 and beyond, reduction in known user pain points, and demonstrated improvement in test-day reliability, stability, or usability
Requirements
- 10+ years performing backlog management, product delivery workflow leadership, and stakeholder management, preferably in the educational technology space
- Proven ability to set and advance a strategic product vision, designing solutions that scale across multiple programs and stakeholder contexts
- Familiarity and experience defining and leveraging usage, product, and qualitative analytics to advocate for product direction
- Adept problem-solving skills, including using data to inform decisions and actions
- Knowledge of user experience best-practices and skilled in translating business needs into user-centered features
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitating meetings and presenting remotely and in-person to groups of 15 or more
- Technical literacy, with the ability to understand data exchanges, system architecture, data modeling and integration workflows
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence others to action

- Outstanding knowledge of emerging trends and best-practices in the education technology field
- Excellent PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Confluence, and JIRA skills; SQL a plus
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Ability to travel 3-6 times a year to College Board offices or on behalf of College Board business
