About the role
- Lead a team of advisors / analysts who provide financial modeling to both standard and custom formulary clients undergoing renewals or market checks, as well as new sales prospects.
- Oversee, develop, and review the strategy of the team’s financial modeling and assist with creation of optimization scenarios for client formularies and/or presentations including all supporting documentation.
- Present formulary opportunities and meet directly with standard and custom clients' SAM team members as well as other cross-functional partners to align baseline models and opportunities to the overall recommended rebate strategy for market checks and renewals.
- Evaluate client data and advise analysts on appropriate scenarios for rebate/plan sponsor savings opportunities that drive value to both clients and ESI.
- Analyze the financial impact of client requested formulary changes to both the client and Express Scripts.
- Collaborate with Clinical Account Executives to create strategy for clients based on formulary and utilization management scenarios, rebate offerings, and modeling options.
- Discuss any potential utilization management programs under evaluation to ensure compliance with pharmaceutical rebate contracts.
- Interact directly with Pharma Strategy and Contracting Team to understand Pharma Manufacturer Rebate Contracts and to strategize on formulary modeling opportunities.
- Strategize with cross-functional areas of Express Scripts, including but not limited to Account Management, Product, and Finance.
- Interview, hire and train new employees on modeling operations, procedures, documentation and client service.
- Lead interdepartmental team calls as required to discuss rebate invoicing eligibility terms/conditions.
- Identify and communicate opportunities to streamline and improve existing systems and procedures to relevant team members and other cross-functional Supply Chain teams for documentation / SOPs, tool or system enhancements, etc. required for the dynamic marketplace.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Pharm.D. preferred, with current active U.S. Pharmacist License
- 5-7 years plus of working in the pharmacy environment
- 4 years of significant formulary management/development experience
- Strong Leadership, Detail Oriented Organizational, and Analytical skills
- Excellent PC skills – including Excel, PowerPoint and MS Access, experience with database
- Financial modeling experience
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical rebate contracts a plus
- Proven ability to work in a fast paced – ever changing environment
- Excellent relationship building and cross functional skills
